Vitalant, San Luis Obispo County's Blood Provider

More than 300 Vitalant blood donors are needed every day to save patients along the Central Coast.  Vitalant is the Central Coast's provider responsible for meeting patient transfusion needs for over 25 area hospitals.  The number of Americans who give blood is declining. There is no substitute for human blood and many patients cannot survive without it.  Giving blood is truly a selfless and heroic act that gives life to patients.  You can help by making an appointment today to give blood at one of these blood drives.

The Battle of the Badges is a friendly competition to see which department or first responder group can host the largest blood drive.

I believe the idea that my blood could help save a life is so amazing. Even though I am not a trained medical professional, I can still make a positive impact on others.
