Additional Ways to Help Save Lives with Vitalant

Donating blood at Vitalant is one important way to join our lifesaving team, but we offer other opportunities to make a difference and help save the lives of patients in communities across the U.S. It takes scores of volunteers, financial donors, blood donation ambassadors and blood drive coordinators in addition to blood donors to ensure hospital patients have the blood they need, when they need it.

Donate Funds

Vitalant Foundation, the fundraising arm of Vitalant, helps to secure the financial resources needed to achieve our lifesaving mission. Your monetary donations, gifts in kind, sponsorships, tribute gifts and more can help support patients directly, and also support blood science and healthcare research. This research leads to innovations benefitting blood recipients and donors.

New blood donors are vitally important to meeting the needs of hospital patients. Existing blood donors can help save even more lives by encouraging friends and family to donate, too. We’ve made it easy by giving you a customized referral code. Find and share the code in your online donor account. Note: Referral codes are not yet available in New Jersey and New York, but donors there are still encouraged to spread the word about the need for new blood donors.
