Vitalant Chief Information Officer Anthony Bobos Recognized as an ArizonaCIO ORBIE® Awards CIO of the Year

Nonprofit blood services provider Vitalant’s Chief Information Officer (CIO) Anthony Bobos was recently recognized as the ArizonaCIO ORBIE® Awards 2021 CIO of the Year in the large enterprise category. Vitalant’s corporate offices are in Scottsdale, Ariz.

“The ArizonaCIO ORBIE winners demonstrate the significance of strong technology leadership in these uncertain times. Over the past year, CIOs are leading in unprecedented ways and enabling the largest work-from-home experiment in history,” said Lindsey Estep, executive director of ArizonaCIO, in a statement about the winners. “The ORBIE Awards are meaningful because they are judged by peers—CIOs who understand how difficult this job is and why great leadership matters.”

“A high-performing IT infrastructure is critical to fulfilling our mission of helping to save and transform lives,” said David R. Green, president and CEO of Vitalant. “Through Anthony's vision and leadership, Vitalant has an industry-leading infrastructure that supports our team of nearly 5,000 employees across 28 states.”

“I’m humbled and grateful for this recognition,” said Bobos. “It is rewarding to lead and facilitate a digital transformation change initiative in the healthcare field and for an organization that helps to save patients’ lives every day.”
