On behalf of the Vitalant family, we want to express our deepest sympathies to everyone affected by the tragic shooting at Club Q on Saturday night.
We’re grateful for the support for giving blood following the shooting. It was the blood donations on the shelves, given by generous donors in the preceding days, that were sent to hospitals on Sunday. About 70 blood products in all. The immediate blood needs for this tragedy have been met at this time.
Volunteer blood donors are needed every day, all year long, to help ensure blood is available for patients. Those who want to do something good in the wake of something so tragic are encouraged to make an appointment to give blood in the coming days and weeks to meet the needs of all patients, wherever and whenever they arise.
