How to Host a Blood Drive
We all need inspiration to find the power to do our part. As a blood drive coordinator, you will encourage blood donors in your area to join you and work toward a common goal. If you just want to be part of something that helps people, or if you have a specific desire to honor the memory of a loved one, the time to act is now.
Blood drive coordinators can also become COVID Rescue Team Leaders. When you recruit individuals who have recovered from COVID-19, they may be able to donate potentially lifesaving convalescent plasma. Start saving lives together one donation at a time.
NEW! Are you or someone you know enrolled in higher education? Become a COVID Rescue Team Student Leader and you can recruit blood donors who may have the antibodies to help patients with COVID-19. Due to the critical need for convalescent plasma, Vitalant is offering a limited-time scholarship to individual students who coordinate a successful virtual blood drive and meet the minimum scholarship criteria. Read more about the need for convalescent plasma from the U.S. Surgeon General.

Coming Together as a Community
Every one of us is essential to moving the world forward. Vitalant needs to collect as many as 5,500 blood donations every day to meet patient needs, so this is an opportunity to transform your life and the lives of so many others. Join a team of passionate volunteers to ensure a steady blood supply for patients throughout the country. If you can inspire and empower others to act on their urge to help—where they can, when they can and as much as they can—this is an amazing way to pay it forward.
