Honoring Lifesavers like You During National Blood Donor Month

January is National Blood Donor Month, a chance to recognize not only our incredible donors, but our blood drive coordinators for the essential role you play in helping maintain a healthy, steady blood supply.

Established in 1970, National Blood Donor Month was created to honor the generous donors who make it possible to save lives through blood donation. January was chosen for this observance because it’s a time when blood donations typically decline due to the holidays and winter weather, yet the need for blood remains constant.

The history behind National Blood Donor Month reminds us why we are here — raising awareness about the importance of blood donation and encouraging people to donate, especially during critical times. Without your dedication to organizing blood drives, reaching out to donors, and making it as easy as possible for people to give, many patients would not receive the lifesaving transfusions they so depend on.

As coordinators, you are at the forefront of this effort, and your work not only honors the spirit of National Blood Donor Month but creates a lasting impact on countless lives. Your partnership and commitment are what enable us to continue delivering hope and healing to those in need.

We’re here to support you in making every blood drive a success. To help inspire you to organize your next drive, we’ve curated some amusing social media reels from YouTube and Instagram that are worth checking out.

Thank you for your hard work and for being the driving force behind our mission. Together, we are making a difference that matters.
